William D. Staten

William “Bill” David Staten, 50, of Wellston, passed away on June 1, 2021, at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe. He was born on June 1, 1971, in Chillicothe, Ohio, son of the late Harry Wayne Staten and Linda Barleon Staten, who survives.  Bill was a 1990 graduate of Wellston High School and Buckeye Hills Career Center. He loved being outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, walking, or sitting in the woods. He enjoyed cooking, watching westerns, and in earlier years, riding his bicycle. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his loving family: mother, Linda; aunt, Pat (Bob) Denney, numerous cousins and special friends Len and Bonnie Holzapfel, and Bob Welch.

In addition to his father, Bill was preceded in death by both his paternal and maternal grandparents, and an aunt, Carol Woodruff.

A funeral service celebrating Bill’s life will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of R.M. Williams Funeral Service, 120 W. Broadway St., with Pastor Frank Doenges officiating. Burial will follow in Hamden Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Friday, June 4, 2021, from 5 to 7 p.m.
