Violet Yates Lifestory

Violet A. (Brooks) Yates, 77, of Wellston, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020, at her home. She was born on February 16, 1943, in McArthur, Ohio, daughter of the late Thomas E. and Virginia (Lemay) Brooks. Violet was a homemaker for most of her life but also spent some time working at Nationwide Insurance in Columbus, Ohio, and Fruth Pharmacy in Wellston. She enjoyed crafting and her pet Yorkshire Terrier from years past. Most of all, she loved cookouts and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Jackie (Rick) Exline; grandsons, Brandon and Matt Exline; brother, Kenny (Joanne) Brooks; sisters, Sharon (Lee) Cates, Linda (Jack) Jones, and Mary Brooks; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Yates.

Private services will be held and in keeping with Violet’s wishes cremation will follow. Burial beside her husband, will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur.
