Thomas E. Nichols, Jr.

Thomas E. Nichols, Jr., 62, of Wellston, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at his home. He was born November 14, 1960, in Columbus, Ohio, son of the late Thomas E. and Juanita Stephenson Nichols. Tom was an employee of D.E. Huddleston in Chillicothe for 22 years. He enjoyed wood working, going to auctions, flea markets, and yard sales, and collecting model trains and train memorabilia. He especially liked watching Regan play baseball and Peyton play softball. He will be greatly missed by many.

He is survived by his loving family: his wife of 33 years, Rose Nichols; son, Eric Nichols; daughters, Nikki (Bob) Poling, Tina (Chris) Carpenter, Sherry (Troy) Dalrymple, and Jerri (Tim) Meadows; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Tim (Brenda) Nichols, John (Danyel) Delaney, and Charles (Stephanie) Nichols; sisters, Toni Jarvis, April Gamble, and Jennifer Gray; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Tom was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Minnie Nichols, and Clifford and Gladys Stephenson; parents, Thomas and Maxine Nichols and Juanita and Hiram Delaney; as well as infant brother, James Allen; and granddaughters, Ashley Daily and Kayla Floyd.

A funeral service celebrating Tom’s life will be held on Monday, September 11, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of R.M. Williams Funeral Service, 120 W. Broadway St., Wellston, with Pastor James Dimel officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgewood Cemetery, Wellston.

The family will receive friends, also on Monday, two hours prior to the service, from Noon until 2 p.m.
