Rosemary L. Burns, 75, of Wilkesville, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at her home. She was born on November 13, 1945, in Wellston, Ohio, the daughter of the late Robert L. and Gladys “Pat” (Moore) Cooper. Rosemary attended the Wilkesville Presbyterian Church and retired from the United States Postal Service as Postmaster of the Wilkesville office. Because of this role, Rosemary knew most everyone in the community. She was a very compassionate and giving person who enjoyed showering others with gifts and items they may need. She enjoyed watching NASCAR, and loved spending time and playing with her family, especially the “youngsters.” She will be greatly missed by many.
She is survived by her husband, Dean, and they celebrated 59 years of marriage on July 28, 2021; daughters, Judy Fry and Pam Burns; son, Terry Burns; four grandchildren: Coty Fry, Justin, Joshua, and Serena Burns; three great-grandchildren: Garrett, Brantley, and Landyn; a brother, William Cooper; a sister, Marcena Fellows (Skip); as well as several nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in law.
In addition to her parents, Rosemary was preceded in death by a son, Scott Burns; and her father and mother-in-law, Robert “Mose” and Juanita Burns.
A funeral service celebrating Rosemary’s life will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of R.M. Williams Funeral Service. Burial will follow in Radcliff Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, from 6 to 8 p.m.
