Ronald D. Jones, 62, of Hamden, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at his home. He was born on October 6, 1958, in Kanawah County, West Virginia, son of the late George and Lola (Gentry) Jones. Ron was a very social person who knew and was well liked by many people. He enjoyed golfing, working, and the thrill of gambling. Along with his signature trait of helping anyone in need, Ron also enjoyed finding “good deals.” He worked for CSX Railroad for 29 years and was a member of the American Legion. An avid fan of Ohio State sports, he enjoyed hosting watch parties, hog roasts, and many other gatherings…the more in attendance, the merrier. His sense of humor, love for family and friends, and generous spirit will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; children: Tracy (Merle) Kuhn, Laura (Bret) Merrill, Julie (Brandon) Witt, Rudy Tindall, Misty (joseph) Watts, and Kristy Tindall; 15 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Tom (Diane) Jones, Darrell Jones, and David (Mavis) Jones; three sisters, Joyce (Bud) Clemons, Carol Bush, and Jeannie Skinner; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 19, 2021, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., in the chapel of R.M. Williams Funeral Service, 120 W.
