Richard P. Wiseman, 70, of Hamden, passed away on Monday, May 8, 2023, at his home. He was born January 29, 1953, in McArthur, Ohio, son of the late Ottie and Dolores (Humphreys) Wiseman.
Richie was blind for 37 years due to a hunting accident. Prior to this, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and finding ginseng. After the accident Rich still enjoyed spending time outdoors and spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed Christmas time.
He is survived by his family: daughter, Renee Barnes, five grandchildren, a sister, Kay (Bill) Libby; a niece, Deidra Libby; and a special friend, Beth Dunn who helped care for him.
In addition to his parents, Rich was preceded in death by a brother, Van Wiseman; a nephew, Bart Wiseman; a niece, Jolene Wisemen; and special friend, Mary Bay.
A funeral service celebrating Rich’s life will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of R.M. Williams Funeral Service, 120 W. Broadway St., Wellston. Burial will follow in Hamden Cemetery.
The family will receive friends also on Friday, two hours prior to the service, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The family wishes to thank National Church Residence Hospice and nursing staff for their help and care during Rich’s last days.
