Rev. Ronald E. Butts

Rev. Ronald E. Butts, 81, of Wellston, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2020 at the Jenkins Care Community in Wellston. He was born on June 19, 1938, in Vinton County, Ohio, son of the late William and Blanche (Wilson) Butts. Ron was retired from Frick Gallagher in Wellston and served the area for many years as a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. A very simple man, Ron enjoyed walking, talking, and witnessing for his Lord and Savior. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his loving family: sons, Wayne (Renee) Butts, Michael (Althea) Butts, and Todd (Beth) Butts; special friend and mother of his children, Minnie Butts; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Matthew Butts; infant son, Ronald Butts, Jr.; infant daughter, Deborah Lynn Butts; as well as brothers, Denver, Arvil, George, Jessie, Charles, and Joe; and Sister, Jane, Othella, and Mary.

A funeral service celebrating Ron’s life will be held on Friday, January 24, 2020, at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of R.M. Williams Funeral Service, 120 W. Broadway St., Wellston. Burial will follow in Ridgewood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 23, 2020, from 4 to 8 p.m.
