Miriam Holzapfel Lifestory

Miriam E. Holzapfel, 93, of Wellston, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2020, at the Jenkins Care Community in Wellston. She was born on November 26, 1926, in Dayton, Ohio, daughter of the late George and Donna (Martin) Keim. Miriam was a strong, competent, “roll up your sleeves” type of lady who along with her husband, Andy, raised five children. A highly active individual she was previously a member of the Wellston Historical Society, the Altar and Rosary guilds at her church, the local mother’s club, several card playing groups, and an herb club. She had wonderful abilities while working in her kitchen and could always be found cooking, canning, and baking for church dinners, fundraisers, or BINGO. Some of her specialties include Lemon Meringue and Rhubarb pies. In addition, she sewed, gardened, and painted. A true homemaker who always put others’ needs before her own. She will be greatly missed by many.

She is survived by her children: Andy (Cori) Holzapfel, Bill (Luwana) Holzapfel, Barbara (George) Edwards, Beth (Ron) Frazee, and Donna (Tim) Wojdacz; as well as 10 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Miriam was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Jr., in 2004; a brother, Bill Keim, and one grandchild.
