Minnie Butts, 82, of Wellston, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2020, at Ohio State University East in Columbus, Ohio. She was born on August 21, 1937, in Vinton County, Ohio, daughter of the late Walter F. and Lorena (Baker) Seitz. Minnie was a homemaker who took great pride in keeping her home and raising her children. She enjoyed shopping, Bingo, eating out, and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her loving family: sons, Wayne (Renee) Butts, Michael (Althea) Butts, and Todd (Beth) Butts; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Herschel, Russell, and Forrest (Brenda) Seitz, and Eric Hambrick; a sister, Cindy Ramsey; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Minnie was preceded in death by an infant son, Ronald Butts, Jr.; infant daughter, Debra Lynn Butts; special friend and father of her children, Rev. Ronald E. Butts; as well as brothers, Oscar and John Seitz and Charlie Fitzpatrick; and sisters, Mildred Hill and Hazel Shifflet.
A funeral service celebrating Minnie’s life will be held on Friday, April 24, 2020, at 1:00 p.m., in the chapel of R.M. Williams Funeral Service, 120 W. Broadway St., Wellston. Burial will follow in Ridgewood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, April 23, 2020, from 6 to 8 p.m.
