Mary Lou (Davis) Burns

Mary Lou Burns, 72, of Vinton, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at her home following an extended illness. She was born on January 19, 1949, in Middleboro, Kentucky, daughter of the late Noah and Dorothy (Hurst) Davis. Mary was a homemaker and an extremely hard worker. She used to help cut wood, mow the grass and any other task that needed to be completed. She enjoyed working in her garden, refinishing furniture, and woodwork, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family. A kind, gentle, soul who would help anyone in need, Mary, will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her family: husband, Timothy “Sam”, whom she married on March 30, 1987; daughters, Lisa Climmons (James), Angela Hackworth (Patrick), Roxanne Hornsby (Dillard); sons, Eric Burns (Kristina) and Cory Burns (Christine); a sister, Faye Underdown; brother, Gene Davis; as well as 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and her dog, Sammy Jo.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her Colley, Lady.

A graveside service celebrating Mary’s life will be held on Monday, March 15, 2021 at 1:00 p.m., in Salem Cemetery.
