John W. Stewart, 63, of McArthur, passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at the Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis. He was born April 6, 1958, in Logan, Ohio, son of the late Cecil and Claira Elizabeth (Witherspoon) Stewart. John was a very active individual. He was a past member of the Friends of Lake Alma Committee, a member of the McArthur Delta Lodge #207 F. & A.M. and attended the Renovate Life Church of God in McArthur. He loved being outdoors and spending time with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed boating, camping, Razr riding, and target shooting. A man of many talents, John could build or fix anything. He will be greatly missed by many.
He is survived by his loving family: wife, Tami Stewart; children, Amy Stewart (Ian Coffee), Nathan Stewart (Tamara), and Cody Thomas; seven grandchildren: Darrin Perry (Lyndy Taylor), Kelcie Perry (Alex Lambert), Zaylend Coffee, Gracelynn Stewart, Alaia Stewart, Kinlee Thomas, and McKenna Walker; two great-grandchildren: Layla Perry and Myla Lambert; as well as his mother and father-in-law, Susie, and Jerry Lawrence, and many friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 19, 2022, in the chapel of R.M. Williams Funeral Service, 120 W. Broadway St., Wellston from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A graveside service celebrating John’s life will follow also on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Elk Cemetery, McArthur, with Pastor James Dimel officiating.
