John Sowers Lifestory

It is with deep sadness that the family of John Sowers announce his sudden passing on April 1, 2023. His death is a shock to all who knew and loved him.

John "Johnny" Austin Sowers was born February 3, 1990, to David and Maggie Sowers, of McArthur. From a young age, John was a one-of-a-kind personality, with his talkative nature, vibrant spirit and tenacious drive that carried on into adulthood. He loved going on "country drives" with his friends and rapping along to his favorite Lil Wayne songs, never missing a single lyric. He was passionate about helping people, and in 2018, earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work from the University of Rio Grande, determined to be successful in his career of choice. Even when not working in the field, John was always there to listen and help anyone who needed it. He was also very invested in his parents' restaurant, Giovanni's Pizza, working there for many years throughout his life, eventually going on to own and operate the restaurant himself.

But what John cared the most about in life were his friends and his family. John is survived by his loving wife and partner in all things, Nicole "Nikki" Sowers. John and Nikki were high school sweethearts who went on to build a beautiful family and life together. Their two children, Kameron, and Kennedy were the pride of John's life, and watching them grow up brought him immeasurable happiness and joy. Whether it was coaching them in basketball or having fun together on beach vacations, spending time with his family was his most favorite thing. John will also be deeply missed by both his mother Maggie and his brother Kyle (Chelsea) bonus sons Landon and Bryson, an uncle, Michael (Kathy) Sowers, as well as his nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, David Sowers.

John's memory will forever live on through the many lives he touched and all those who loved him the most.
