Janice D. (Halterman) Wolfe

Janice Deann Halterman Wolfe, 63, of Wellston, passed away on May 26, 2021, at Adena Pike Medical Center in Waverly. She was born on August 2, 1957, in Gallipolis, Ohio, daughter of the late Donovan Halterman and Marjorie Walton Halterman Cooper. Janice was a truly kind and caring person. She enjoyed being outdoors…bird watching and taking rides to view wildlife such as deer and geese or ducks. She enjoyed shopping and finding great deals at yard sales, decorating for every holiday both inside and outside of the house, and the thrill of lottery tickets. Most of all, however, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Gary Wolfe; son, Kevin (Cathy) Halterman; daughters, Kristen Riley, Tammy Wolfe (John), Christy Barnhill and Kelly Wolfe (Edward); 12 grandchildren: Devon, Abby, Robert, Calin, Keila, Teddy, Tony, Chris, Mark, L.J., Peyton, and John Jr.; 4 great-grandchildren: Rhyland, Skylre, Kaysen, and Haydin. Sisters, Francis Elaine Camp, Amber (Ernie) Brown, Kimberly (Russell) Halterman, and Connie Fry; brother, Donovan “Tim” Halterman, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and special friends, Melanie Martin, Sherry Ranta, Beverly Summers, and Ruby Bell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Forrest “Rink” Halterman and David Lynn Halterman; and a sister, Cheryl Dawn Halterman.

In keeping with Janice’s wishes no public service will be held and her body will be cremated. A private family viewing will be held, and burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be sent directly to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
