Helen Mae “Mickey” Young, 90, of Wellston, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Jenkins Assisted Living in Wellston. She was born August 19, 1931, in Jackson County, Ohio, daughter of the late Luther and Chloe (Vittatoe) Branscomb. Helen was a homemaker for most of her life. She loved her family very much and took great pride in caring for them. She enjoyed taking rides, shopping, and browsing yard sales. She was also an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds and enjoyed attending Drew and Blake’s baseball games. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her loving family: Sons, John (Judy) Ingalls, Chuck (Diana) Ingalls; daughters Kathy (Teresa) Ingalls Lyons, Jean Ann Warrington, and Amy (Buzz) Ervin; four grandchildren: Chad Ingalls, Justin Ingalls, Drew Ervin, and Blake Warrington; three great-grandchildren: Chase, Emma, and Braxton; a sister, Janice Baughman; as well as several nieces and nephews, many special friends, and some impeccable caregivers at Jenkins Assisted Living including Tracy, Peggy, Timber, Sam, Lacey, Sydney, Randi, Mary, Debbie, Rose, and April.
In addition to her parents Mickey was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Young; stepsons, Jeff, and Jerry Young; brothers, Bill Branscomb and Ben Morgan, Jr.; as well as her sister, Jean Levering.
A funeral service celebrating Mickey’s life will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of R.M. Williams Funeral Service, 120 West Broadway St., Wellston. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery in Jackson.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home also on Sunday, two hours prior to the service from 12 to 2 p.m.
