Dwayne Bales Lifestory

Dwayne E. Bales, 55, of Jackson, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at the Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis. He was born September 22, 1967, in Gallipolis, Ohio, son of the late Marvin and Ireda (James) Bales. Dwayne was a member of the Buckeye Community Services family for over 20 years and touched many hearts and lives. He was a dreamer and aspired to live in every state and every country daily. He would often speak with enthusiasm of his plans to move and build his own fort where he could hunt and shoot guns and have his own helicopter. He was an avid movie enthusiast with a very impressive collection.  Dwayne had an infectious, gentle, and sometimes mischievous smile. You couldn’t help but smile when he was around.  He loved his family and staff at Buckeye and would call them frequently to keep in touch. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Dwayne is now resting peacefully in his fort in the sky.

He is survived by his loving family: Sister, Faye (Charles) Williams; three brothers, Marvin (Alice) Bales Jr., Paul (Debbie) Bales, and Michael (Debbie) Bales Sr.; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Dwayne was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Banks.

A visitation celebrating Dwayne’s life will be held on Monday, February 27, 2023, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the chapel of R.M. Williams Funeral Service, 120 W. Broadway St., Wellston, where an informal service will also be held. Cremation will follow and burial will be in Salem Cemetery next to his beloved parents.
