Dolores Wiseman, 96, of Hamden, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2019, at the Jenkins Care Community in Wellston. She was born on April 17, 1923, in Barnesville, Ohio, daughter of the late Harry and Nellie (Long) Humphrey. Dolores spent her life as a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. In her younger years she enjoyed gardening, canning, and cooking. In her later years, she could be found sitting peacefully on her front porch swing enjoying God’s beauty of nature or working word search puzzles or looking at magazines.
She is survived by her loving family: daughter, Kay (William) Libby; son, Richard Wiseman; grandchildren, Deidra Libby, Bart Wiseman and Michelle Barnes; great-grandson, Barton Wiseman; half-brothers, Ronald and Donald Humphrey; half-sister, Jeanie Nicholson; sisters-in-law, Nellie (Esau) Eberts, Irene Walton, Rita Wiseman, and Betty Wiseman; brother-in-law, Donald Wiseman; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Ottie Wiseman on January 31, 1999; son, Van Wiseman, and sisters, Mildred McNeely and Madeline Massie.
A funeral service celebrating Dolores’ life will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of R.M. Williams Funeral Service, 120 W. Broadway St., with Pastor Jim Eberts officiating. Burial will follow in Hamden Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 9, 2019, from 5 to 8 p.m.
