David C. Berry, Sr., 67, of Londonderry, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at his home. He was born July 29, 1955, in Columbus, Ohio, son of the late Enoch and Catherine Berry. David retired from the Ohio Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation after over 30 years of service. Prior to this, he served as a deputy sheriff and auxiliary firefighter in the Columbus, Ohio area for a number of years. David was a member of the NRA and enjoyed attending gun shows and collecting war memorabilia. He never met a stranger and loved talking with people. In fact, he always looked forward to meeting up with his old buddies once a month to catch up, reminisce about the old days, and solve the world’s problems. He will be greatly missed by many.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Debbie; two sons; three daughters; 18 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren, with two on the way; a brother, Billy; and sister, Junie; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Emmalia; and a brother, Jack.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, from 4 to 6 p.m., in the chapel of R.M. Williams Funeral Service, 120 W. Broadway St., Wellston. In keeping with David’s wishes, cremation will follow.
