Carson Sexton Lifestory

Carson V. Sexton, 76, of Wellston, passed away on Monday, May 17, 2021, at his home. He was born on January 13, 1945, in Jackson County, Ohio, son of the late Raleigh V. and Essie (Kelley) Sexton. A veteran of the United States Army, Carson was currently serving as the chaplain for the Disabled American Veterans in Jackson and served by transporting other veterans to various appointments. In his younger years, he pastored at a couple area churches, and preached the gospel of Jesus Christ. He was an extremely talented musician who enjoyed playing and singing gospel music. For several years, Carson and his siblings (who also play instruments) would get together to play and sing.  This is something he greatly loved. He will be missed.

He is survived by his family: former wife and best friend, Judy Norman Sexton; daughter, Rita Seymour; son, Jeff Sexton (Penny); 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, Wayne (Alice) Sexton, Joe Sexton, and Paul Sexton; sisters, Jan Norman, Juanita (Andy) Graham, and Elinor (Jim) McIntire; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Carolyn “Cook” Marks Sexton; brother, Lawrence, and infant brother, Wade; as well as his sister, Velma Hendrickson.
