Zachary Burton
August 6, 1983 — June 19, 2017
Zachary Taylor Burton, 33, of Columbus, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born on August 6, 1983 in Columbus, Ohio, son of the late William “Bill” Burton and Dana (Dotson) Burton, who survives. Zachary attended the Eagle’s Nest Ranch in Lithopolis where he developed a love for animals, especially horses. In fact, one of his favorite and most meaningful jobs was working at Scioto Downs, taking care of many of the race horses. An avid fan of the Columbus Blue Jackets, Zachary was also a Boy Scout and former volunteer with the Columbus Zoo. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his mother, Dana, he is survived by his paternal grandmother, Marilyn Larkin; aunts, Tonie, Tina, Lisa, Mary, Kay, and Sarah; cousins, Ryan, Bryce, Jennifer, J.J., Charlie, and special cousins, Matthew and Matthew, Jr.; special friends; Zach, Matt, and Nadine; as well as numerous other extended family members, friends, and his beloved dog, Bacardi.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandpas, James Burton and Michael Larkin; maternal grandparents, Ralph and Helen Dotson; as well as his beloved pets, Rebel and Sweetie.
A funeral service celebrating Zach’s life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, June 26, 2017 at John Quint Treboni Funeral Home, 1177 West 5th Ave, Columbus, Ohio 43212. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne.
The family will receive friends at John Quint Treboni on Sunday, June 25, 2017 from 2 to 6 p.m.
