Ted "JuneBug" Junior Hollingshead,77, of Greenup, Kentucky, and formerly of Wellston, passed away on November 8, 2025, in Greenup, Kentucky. He was born on October 31, 1948, in McArthur, Ohio, son of the late Adam Tetrow and Minnie Armina (Riffle) Hollingshead. Ted led a life characterized by hard work and humor.
Ted served in the United States Army and spent his career as a truck driver. This was not just a job but a testament to his strong work ethic and dedication. Those who knew him fondly recall his great sense of humor, with many sharing memories of his ability to crack jokes that could light up any room.
In addition to his professional life, Ted was a car enthusiast, always eager to share his knowledge and love for automobiles with anyone willing to listen. He had a warm heart and an open hand, often helping those in need.
Ted is survived by his son, Ted (Jeannettea) Hollingshead; his sister, Minnie Salmons; ten grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; his significant other, Martha Maynard; his special friend, Billy Sark; and his loyal dog, Turbo. His legacy also extends to the many lives he touched, especially those he helped raise: David, Tonya, and Brianna.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Griffis; his brothers, Bill and Jacob Griffis; his sisters, Emma Sirback and Elsie Griffis, as well as his former significant other, Rosie Coy.
Ted Junior Hollingshead will be remembered not only for his accomplishments and his hardworking nature but also for the love and laughter he brought into the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
