Susan A. Elkins

Susan A. Elkins, 77, of Wellston, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio. She was born on October 12, 1948, in McArthur, Ohio, the daughter of the late Clarence and Dolores (Hill) Scarberry.

Susan worked for many years as a laborer in auto manufacturing. She enjoyed crocheting and her favorite flower, Black-eyed Susans.

She is survived by her daughter, Rachel (Tom) Speraw; five grandchildren, Gary Smathers, Faith Williams, Matthew Keyser, CorDale Keyser, and Tucker Keyser; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers, Neil (Edna) Scarberry, and Roger (Denise) Terry; sisters, Carolyn (Gary) Turner, and Brenda (Russell) Denney; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Elkins, and a brother, Larry Scarberry.

In keeping with her wishes, no public services will be held, and her body will be cremated.
