Rudy H. Perry, 55, of Lucasville, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at his home. He was born on April 25, 1971, in Gallipolis, Ohio, the son of the late Rudy Wallace and Margie Perry. Rudy was a 1989 graduate of Jackson High School, and a veteran of the US Navy.
Rudy took great pride in his roots and upbringing. He was raised in a nurturing church environment, attending regularly with his maternal grandmother, Phyllis Perry, who lovingly adopted and raised him. This spiritual foundation was a hallmark of his life.
Rudy’s passions and interests painted a vibrant portrait of a man who cherished the outdoors and treasured moments spent with loved ones. An avid Ohio State Buckeye football fan, he delighted in watching the Jackson Ironmen sports events, especially when his grandchildren graced the fields and courts. His appreciation for the great outdoors was evident in his love of fishing, hunting, cookouts, and simply enjoying nature’s beauty. Rudy also found joy in amusement parks and the thrills of roller coasters and had an eclectic taste in music, further highlighting his spirited and lively personality.
He will be profoundly missed by his sons, Jacob (Alexis) Perry and Christian (Heather) Kearns, and his daughter, Kierra Burd (Mikayla Long). Rudy’s family extended warmly to his stepdaughters, Kristen (Kerry) Ross, Kayla Barnett (Blake Picklesimer), and Keisha Crabtree (Jake Summe). His legacy is carried on by twenty adoring grandchildren: Kingston, Kyrell, Kovalee, Dyllon, Camden, Kayzlee, Kalani, Kallum, Callie, Rhett, Byron, Braxton, Mia, Bodie, Hunter, Gage, Aeden, Landon, Riley, and Adam, who each brought immense joy and pride into his life; as well as his fiancé, Shirley Fay Snyder.
Family ties also include his maternal grandmother, Phyllis Perry, who stood beside him in life’s journey, and his aunt Teresa Vaughn, who shared in his memories and milestones.
In addition to his parents, Rudy was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Bob Perry, who, along with his wife Phyllis, adopted and raised him; his aunts Kimber and Tonya; and his infant uncle, David Robert Perry, Jr.
The community and family will gather to honor Rudy’s memory and celebrate his life at R.M. Williams Funeral Service, 120 W. Broadway St, Wellston. Visitation will be held on May 30, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service commencing at 1:00 p.m.
