Ronald Paul “Bongo” Conger, 76, of Oak Hill, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at his home. He was born September 16, 1948, in Wellston, Ohio, son of the late Paul Edward and Nellie Irene (Waugh) Conger. Ron was a man with a huge heart who loved his family and spending quality time with them. In the past, he was a 4-H advisor and developed a deep love for horses. He enjoyed hunting, traveling to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and listening to his favorite music by the Righteous Brothers.
Later in life, Ron attended Rio Grande Community College and was awarded an associates degree in Art. He was a very talented artist specializing in paintings and sculpture. Some of his work remains on display at the college to this day. While not a veteran himself, Ron was a proud supporter of our armed forces. He was a member of the American Legion, AmVets, and other veteran organizations. He was also a member of the Free & Accepted Masons. He will be greatly missed by many.
He is survived by his wife, Kris (Mossman) Conger; children, Kim (Devin) Conner, and Tad (Melissa) Conger; grandchildren, Hannah Conner and Taylor Conger; sisters, Eva (Michael) Young, and Cathy (Randy) Mercer; a brother, Doug (Laura) Conger; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William “Bill” Conger, and a sister, Shirley McCain.
A receiving of friends will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, from 3 to 5 p.m., in the chapel of R.M. Williams Funeral Service, 120 W. Broadway St., Wellston.
