Roger W. Johnson

Roger W. Johnson, 89, of Wellston, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024, at his home. He was born June 13, 1934, in Jackson, Ohio, son of the late Paul and Frances (Bondret) Johnson. Roger proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was a hard worker who loved farming and taking care of his family. He was wedded in Holy Matrimony to Mary Scott in 1953. They were united for 59 years until her death in 2012. Roger very much missed Mary and is now reunited with her, forever together in love.

He is survived by his children: Carol (Guy) Waugh, Mike (Debbie) Johnson, John (Pat) Johnson, Bob Johnson, and Paul Johnson; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; as well as two foster children, Roger and George Castor; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Roger was preceded in death by his daughter, Dora Lynn Craft; and a brother, Paul Johnson, Jr.

In keeping with Roger’s wishes his body will be cremated and no public services will be held. His remains will be laid to rest with his wife in Buckeye Cemetery in Jackson at the convenience of the family.
