Peggy Louise McGuire,67, of Wellston, passed away peacefully at home on September 29, 2025. She was born on March 22, 1958, in Hunt, West Virginia, daughter of the late Clifford Sullivan and Corrine (Toler) Ferrell.
Peggy dedicated many years to serving as an activities aide at We Care Nursing Facility, where she brought joy and companionship to seniors in need. She was involved with the Wellston Senior Citizen's Club, where she particularly enjoyed playing volleyball. Peggy embraced life with enthusiasm and style.
A devoted member of Grace Baptist Fellowship in Wellston, Peggy's faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and interactions with those around her. She also had a fondness for bringing her large family together over shared meals and games every holiday. In her leisure time, she loved photo editing and making videos, capturing memories that would last for generations. Peggy often acted as the “second mom” to many of the neighborhood children in her community as her six children kept the house full of friends who loved her humor and guidance. She was a cherished member of her community and a beloved family figure whose spirit and warmth touched many lives.
Peggy will be lovingly remembered by her family, which includes her sons, Raymond McGuire, Clifford McGuire, Keith McGuire, and Timothy (Samantha) McGuire; her daughters, Kelly McGuire (Peter Whitehouse) and Sarah Slone (Robert); 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Constance "Tiny" Holsinger and Lena "Ann" Shannon, and her brother, Johnny Ray Ferrell, along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond McGuire, and her brothers, Richard, Clifford "Bucky," and Noah "Eddie" Ferrell. The legacy Peggy leaves behind is one of love, kindness, and a strong sense of community.
A visitation will be held on October 3, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, in the chapel of R.M. Williams Funeral Service, 120 W. Broadway St., Wellston, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM with Pastor Tim Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Byer Cemetery where Peggy will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Raymond. Peggy's memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
