Nancy A. (Roy) French

Nancy A. French, 67, of Wellston, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis. She was born on August 9, 1949 in Toledo, Ohio, daughter of the late Lawrence and Clarice Sutton Roy. Nancy held a B.S. degree and worked as a specialist with Jackson County MRDD for many years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, and arts and crafts of all kinds. She was a strong spirited woman who in spite of life’s challenges did her best to take care of her family, especially her twins, Andrew and Ronnie.

She is survived by her family: sons, Robert (Tonya) Lorenzen, and Ronnie (Fiancé Katie Murray) French; daughters, Shirley (Floyd) Westfall, Cheryl Jenkins, and Trixy French; 10 grandkids; 12 great grandkids (and two on the way); sisters, Wanda (Brad) Rossi, and Vida Roy; lifelong friend, Monica Growden; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Andrew French; two grandsons, Steven and William Clarkson; brothers, Robert and Larry Roy; as well as a son-in-law, Doug Jenkins.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 from 12:00 (Noon) to 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of R.M. WILLIAMS FUNERAL SERVICE, 120 W. Broadway St., where a funeral service celebrating Nancy’s life will follow commencing at 2 p.m.. Pastor Michael Jadrnicek will officiate. Burial will follow in CM Cemetery, Oak Hill.
