Michael R. Harvey

Michael R. Harvey, 51, of Glenroy, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at his home. He was born January 24, 1974, in Gallipolis, Ohio, son of the late Harold Harvey and Luella (Seymour) Harvey McManaway, who survives. Michael enjoyed various sports, especially the Cincinnati Reds. He could often be found playing his guitar and singing or exercising and lifting weights. Another favorite past time was cooking and barbecuing with his brother David. They especially liked making their “almost famous” gumbo. Michael loved spending time with his family, and loved his Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer; mother, Luella McManaway (Ray); son, Steven Castle (Alexandra); daughter, Kierstyn Smathers (Jeff); three grandchildren; a brother, David Harvey (Shana); sisters, Kimberly Baldwin (Cliff), and Melissa Baldwin (Scott); as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 1 to 2 p.m., in the chapel of R.M. Williams Funeral Service, 120 W. Broadway St., Wellston, where a funeral service celebrating Michael’s life will be held at 2 :00 p.m., with Pastor Kevin Green officiating. Burial will follow in Radcliff Cemetery.
