Lyman George Pire, 57, of Wellston, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Jenkins Care Community in Wellston. He was born January 9, 1968, in Warsaw, New York, son of the late James Arnold Pire and Frances Mary Jackson Pire. Lyman proudly served his Country in the United States Army and was currently employed at Jenkins Care Community as the Dietary Supervisor, a position he was very honored to hold. He took great pride in preparing meals for the residents, always being sure to take into consideration their specific requests. Lyman was a man with a big heart who was outgoing and friendly. He loved the outdoors, spending time with his family and cooking. He will be greatly missed by many.
He is survived by his wife, Leona Pire; son, Jeremy Meadows; daughter, Tanisha (Billy) Cox; four grandchildren, William Cox IV, Casen Cox, Emersyn Cox, and Gracelyn Cox; brothers, James Pire, Jr., Jeffrey (Cheryl) Pire, and Charles Pire; sisters, Melody (David) Brothers, and Deborah (Rob) Knapp; as well as several nieces and nephews, friends and co-workers, who took great care of him and his family during these last days.
A funeral service celebrating Lyman’s life will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., in the chapel of R.M. Williams Funeral Service, 120 W. Broadway St., Wellston, with Walter “Bub” Norris officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Ridgewood Cemetery, Wellston.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from 4 to 8 p.m.
