Katherine (Hill) Leach

Katherine L. Leach, 95, of Wellston, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2017, at Crestview Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Lancaster, Ohio. She was born on October 27, 1921 in Pattonsville, Jackson County, Ohio, daughter of the late Hiram and Hazel (Bard) Hill. Katherine was a member of the Wellston V.F.W. Auxiliary, as well as the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and the Eagles. In her younger years, she was a very talented and energetic tap dancer. As the years progressed that energy was manifested in other hobbies such as sewing and crafts. A very skilled cook, Katherine was widely known for her homemade chicken and noodles and homemade breads. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her loving family: sons, Arthur, Paul, Roy “Hoak”, Roger, Everett (Michelle),  and Charles (Debbie) Leach; daughters, Ruth Holtz, Carolyn Sue (Donald) Riddle, and Mary (Roy) Adams; 35 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Joann Leach and Pauline Leach; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as special friends, Euna Martin and June Radcliff.

In addition to her parents, Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Leach; son, Virgil Leach; brother, Clayton Hill; sister, Kay Norton; daughters-in-law, Dorothy and Evelyn; and son-in-law, Carl Holtz.

A funeral service celebrating Katherine’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of R.M. WILLIAMS FUNERAL SERVICE, 120 West Broadway St., Wellston, with Pastor Travis Potts officiating. Burial will follow in Byer Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Monday, August 14, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
