June A. (Tillis) Bearhs

June Ann Tillis Bearhs, 76, went on to her eternal reward in Heaven on Friday, December 25, 2020, at her home surrounded by her family.  She was born on January 14, 1944, in Rutland, Ohio, daughter of the late Sherman and Kathleen (Haley) Tillis. June was a devoted wife, a loving mother, cherished grandmother, and a friend to many. She devoted her life to God at an early age and touched many lives with her testimony. June loved to sing and play the piano and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. Her contribution to this world will never be forgotten.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Richard Bearhs; five children, Richard Scott (Lori) Bearhs, Troy (Michelle) Bearhs, Shelley (Stoney) Johnson, Ryan (Debbie) Bearhs, and Stefani (Ryan) Combs all of Pomeroy; 15 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a brother, Jerry Tillis of Harrisonville; sisters, Sandy (Roger) Smith of Gallipolis, Jean (Thomas) Weaver of New Bloomfield, PA, and Louise (Daniel) Roush of Beckley, WV; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her brother, Mark Tillis and grand-daughter, Julia Johnson.

A funeral service celebrating June’s life will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at 12:00 noon, at the River of Life Church of God, 37032 State Route 124, Rutland, Ohio, with Pastor Gilbert Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Herman Cemetery, Pomeroy.

The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, from 5 to 7 p.m.
