John E. Radcliff, Jr., 79, of Wellston, passed away peacefully at his home on March 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on March 9, 1947, in Gallipolis, Ohio, the son of the late John E. Radcliff, Sr., and Patricia Ann (Morris) Radcliff.

A veteran of the US Army, John proudly served as Military Police. He had a deep love for the outdoors and spent many cherished hours hunting, fishing, and enjoying time shooting his pellet guns. John was a master gardener, gourmet chef, and expert marksman. He loved sports, especially basketball, baseball, and Ohio State football. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was always making everyone laugh. He will be greatly missed.

On November 8, 1968, John married the love of his life, Kathleen M. Gregory, who survives. Together they shared 57 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered on love and family.

In addition to his wife, Kathy, John is survived by his two children, Gregory Shane Radcliff (Brenda) and Laura Marie (Radcliff) Perry (Greg); grandchildren, Kourtney (Emmert) Chaney (Derek), Morgan Radcliff, Kamryn Emmert (Triston Malstrom), and Grayson Radcliff; great-granddaughter, Parker Grace Chaney; brothers-in-law, Dennis and Jeffrey (Christine) Gregory; sister-in-law, Gloria (Mike) Bentley; as well as his lifelong friend and fellow hunter, Steve Burns.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his three brothers, Robert, Richard, and Michael Radcliff.

In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated, and no formal funeral services will be held.

The family wishes to give a special thanks to Gloria and Mike Bentley, as well as other family members, friends, and Heartland Hospice, for ministering and caring for Johnny in his final days.

John will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his enduring friendships, and his strength. In the closing chapter of his life, he also found a deep and meaningful faith in Jesus Christ. He will be deeply missed, forever remembered for his laughter, his love for his family, and the lasting impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to be part of his life.
