John Richard Morgan, Jr.

John “Johnny” Richard Morgan, Jr., 64, of McArthur, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Grant Hospital in Columbus. He was born July 9, 1959, in Wellston, Ohio, son of the late John Richard Morgan, Sr. and Dorothy Louise (Perry) Morgan. John was an appliance repair mechanic for many years having worked for Ray’s Appliance in Wellston. An outdoorsman at heart, John enjoyed flower gardening, growing tomatoes and cucumbers and having cookouts where he could spend time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed music of all kinds and eras and had a great sense of humor. He will be missed by many.

He is survived by his children: David Morgan, Andi Morgan McWhorter, Sarah Nesser (Fred), and Samantha Glispie (Ryan); 19 grandchildren, Makenzie, Austin, Tiffany, Davey, Ash, Jae, Emmie, Liam, Jonah, Kimber, Joce, Kaleb, Micah, Elijah, Evie, Maddie, Ezra, Asher,  and Josiah; as well as one on the way, baby Judah; five great-grandchildren, Ethan, Zach, Hope, Brantley, and Brinley; a brother, Greg Morgan; two sisters, Lori Beatty (Dennis) and Cindy Hoops (Bryan); as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, Steve Morgan; and a son-in-law, Dave McWhorter.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 22, 2024, from Noon until 1 p.m., in the chapel of R.M. Williams Funeral Service, 120 W. Broadway St., Wellston, where a funeral service will follow commencing at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Jim Taylor officiating.  Burial will follow in Elk Cemetery, McArthur.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions in John’s name be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
