James L. Waddell

James Leonard Waddell, 54, of Wellston, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023. He was born May 26, 1969, in Chicago, Illinois, son of James M. Waddell, who survives, and Gloria Hamanaka. James was a very intelligent person who held a master’s degree in taxation from DePaul University. In addition to this, he also authored and illustrated a cartoon book of which he was very proud. He was well loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed by many.

In addition to his father, James is survived by his wife, Brandy Hamanaka; a half-brother, Gene Lillie; an uncle, Bobby Hamanaka; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In keeping with James’ wishes, his body will be cremated, and no public services will be held.
