George E. Henneman

George E. Henneman, 89, of Wellston, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2015 at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson. He was born on July 5, 1926 in Columbus, Ohio, son of the late Edward P. and Florence (Pemberton) Henneman. George proudly served his country in the United States Navy. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, he went to work for the Atomic Plant in 1953. He was the first welder hired, and retired after 38 years of service.

George was a member of Grace Baptist Fellowship of Wellston, and a former member of the Black Diamond Lodge #538 F. &A.M. of Wellston, as well as Eastern Star. An outdoorsman at heart, he enjoyed keeping busy with yard work, especially landscaping and flower gardening.  He was a supporter of the local 4H Clubs and liked helping with his daughter and son-in-law’s horses.

He is survived by his loving family: wife of 66 years, Billie (McManaway) Henneman, whom he married on June 19, 1949; children: Phil (Phyllis) Henneman and Lori (Bill) Cassill; three grandchildren: Ralph (Sara) Henneman, Rachel (Chris) Butcher, and Bryan (Heather) Cassill; five great-grandchildren: Lydia Ruth and Abigail Henneman, C.J. and Rylee Butcher, and Bryson Cassill.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his special cousin, Eileen Scherer.

A funeral service celebrating George’s life will be held on Friday, December 18, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in Grace Baptist Fellowship, with Pastor Tim Jones officiating. Burial will be at a later date.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 17, at R.M. Williams Funeral Service, 120 W. Broadway St. in Wellston, from 5 to 8 p.m.
