Gary Richard Brown, Jr., 60, of McArthur, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at his residence. He was born on October 30, 1964, in Nelsonville, Ohio, son of Gary and Jane (Keesee) Brown. Gary lived a life marked by deep familial bonds and cherished memories. He will be remembered for his love, kindness, and the rich memories he created with family and friends throughout his life. He leaves behind a profound impact that will resonate in the hearts of many.
A proud graduate of Vinton County High School, class of 1983, Gary exemplified a strong, steadfast and sometimes stubborn character. Deep down, however, he possessed a tender heart that endeared him to all who knew him. Gary's love for his family was unwavering, and he spent his life surrounded by those he cherished most. In his leisure time, Gary indulged in hobbies that brought him joy, such as hunting and riding motorcycles. His adventurous spirit and passion for the outdoors left a lasting impression on those around him.
His legacy continues through his loving parents, Gary and Jane (Keesee) Brown; daughters, Kristy Scott and Jenny Huntley; grandchildren, Daulton, Kilee, and Kyle Jinks, and Luke and Lydia Huntley; Gary's siblings played a crucial role in his life as well. He is additionally survived by brothers, Clinton Brown (Bethany) and sisters, Ina Jean Butcher (Randy), Theresa Thompson (Dean), and Donya Brown, along with several nieces and nephews who will hold onto fond memories of their uncle.
Gary was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William and Jean Brown, and his maternal grandparents, Jay and Inez Keesee. Their legacy alongside Gary's will forever be cherished by his remaining family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, in the chapel of R.M. Williams Funeral Service, 120 West Broadway St., Wellston, followed by a funeral service celebrating Gary's life at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Mitchell Family Cemetery, Creola.
