Evelyn M. “Eve” (Corbin) Dimel, 89, of Grove City, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Mount Caramel East Hospital in Columbus. She was born on February 23, 1927 in Columbus, Ohio, daughter of the late Charles E. and Beatrice M. (Watring) Corbin. Eve was a devout Catholic, raised in the Holy Family parish. She was a 1946 graduate of Holy Family High School. Eve enjoyed performing arts, dancing, music, and traveling. For the past 17 years, Eve lived a very active life in Florida. She was a very social, outgoing, loving, and kind-hearted individual.
She is survived by her loving family: son, Gary (Meg) Dimel; daughter, Connie Dimel-Moore; seven grandchildren: Rich (Jill), Shawn (Amanda), Joe (Jessica) Dimel, Clarissa (Jeremy) Reis, Jennifer (Ted) Dickerson, Christopher Moore, and Stefan Wedor; 13 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Anna Corbin; as well as nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Eve was preceded in death by her husband, Richard F. Dimel, in 1988; brother, Charles “Chod” Corbin; and a son-in-law, Charles R. Moore.
A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Eve’s life will be held on Friday, September 30, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 584 W. Broad St., Columbus, with Father Stash L. Dailey as Celebrant. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Lockbourne.
The family will receive friends at the SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway St., Grove City, on Thursday, September, 29, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. where a prayer vigil service will commence at 7:30 p.m. with Deacon Earl McCurry presiding.
