Ethel M (Mcwhorter) Seymour

Ethel Marie Seymour, 78, of Hamden, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at the Holzer Medical Center in Jackson. She was born in Byer, Ohio, on September 11, 1940, daughter of the late Harvey and Cora (Scurlock) McWhorter. Ethel was a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed flower gardening, shopping, and eating out with her girls. Most of all she enjoyed playing BINGO.

She is survived by her loving family: son, John Seymour, Jr.; daughters, Connie (Donnie) Jarvis, and JoEllen (Barry) Lambert; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; as well as a sister, Gladys (Jim) George; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 4 sisters.

A graveside service celebrating Ethel’s life will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. in Byer Cemetery with Pastor Don Kincaid officiating.
