Elda Mae (Wood) Parsons

Elda Mae Parsons, 85, of Wellston, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at her home. She was born March 22, 1937, in Pike County, Ohio, daughter of the late Clarence Wood and Mary Elizabeth Finley. A Christian by faith, Elda attended Freedom Chapel Church in Wellston when her health permitted. She enjoyed reading, working puzzles, working in her flowerbeds, and playing on her ipad. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Parsons; sons, Keith, and Rick (Wendy) Parsons; daughters, Denise Lambert, and Sandy (Alan) Harper; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Fred Mathews; a sister, Sue Williams; son-in-law, Larry Brown; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Elda was preceded in death by a son, Russ Parsons; a daughter, Linda Brown; brothers, Dewey Cline, and Ralph Mathews; as well as an infant daughter, Karen Jean Parsons.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 28, 2022, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., in the chapel of R.M. Williams Funeral Service, 120 W. Broadway St., Wellston, where a funeral service celebrating Elda’s life will follow commencing at 1:00 p.m. with Carmen Cline officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgewood Cemetery, Wellston.
