David Lee Delong

David Lee DeLong, 62, of Wellston, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022, at his home. He was born May 22, 1960, in Oak Hill, Ohio, son of the late Jack and Ida (Thompson) DeLong. David was a 1978 graduate of Oak Hill High School and a proud veteran of the United States Army. He previously served on the Coalton Volunteer Fire Department and was also an ordained minister. A Christian by faith, David loved to laugh. He had a huge heart, would help anyone in need, and knew no stranger. He was a loyal fan of the Cleveland Browns and enjoyed watching NASCAR and spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his daughter, Alex (Anthony) Hart; grandchildren, Addison and Dameon Boyd and Anthony Hart, Jr.; sister, Carol Gillum; nieces, Jennifer Childers, and Sandra (Trenton) Jayjohn; as well as great-nieces, Camryn, Presley, and Reagan; great-nephew, Waylon; and his special friend, Teresa Tennison.

A graveside service celebrating David’s life will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. in CM Cemetery, Oak Hill. Burial will be with David’s beloved mother and father and full military honors will be conducted.
