Christopher T. Boyer, 77, of Wellston, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. He was born on October 12, 1948, in Gallipolis, Ohio, the son of the late Thomas O. Boyer and Gene Lucille Wortman Boyer.
Chris was a long-time employee of Crown City Mining and the Ohio Department of Transportation, where he worked as a heavy equipment/ drill operator. He later worked as a fuel delivery driver for Buchanan Oil Company and owned and operated Pit Stop carry-out convenience store in Hamden for a time. He married the love of his life, Diane Swaney, on September 19, 1970. They enjoyed 55 years of marriage.
An enthusiast of antique cars, Chris was a member of the Appalachia Old Car Club as well as a camping club. He and his wife, Diane, enjoyed camping and later spent their winters in Florida taking in the sunshine and visiting with friends.
In addition to his wife Diane, Chris is survived by several cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of R.M. Williams Funeral Service, 120 W. Broadway St., Wellston. A graveside service will follow in Ridgewood Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
