Charity M. (Knox) Friend

Charity M. Friend, 55, of Ray, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at her home. She was born April 9, 1969, in South Bloomingville, Ohio, daughter of the late Owen and Patsy (Shrider) Knox. Charity was a country girl through and through. She loved classic country music, especially Reba and could always be found with coffee in hand and a full pot to share with any visitors. She had a great sense of humor, loved mushroom hunting, cooking, fishing, and mud running. Most of all, however, she loved spending time with her family, especially her kids and grandkids. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Ricky Friend, Sr.; children, Ely (Amanda) Workman, Jimmy (Beth Yates) Workman, Jr., Seth Nicholson, Matthew Nicholson, and Patrick Nicholson, Ricky (Terry Folden) Friend, Jr., Rachel (Ryan) Osborne, and Heather (Kenneth “Bucky”) Ewing; as well as her in home grandson, Blake Edwards. In addition, Charity is also survived by her brother, Donald (Jackie) Knox, sisters, Karen Wise and Loretta Snowden and several grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Knox; a sister, Cathy Halterman; and an aunt, Barb White.

In keeping with Charity’s wishes her body will be cremated and no public services will be held.
