Brenda Rose Jewell

Brenda Rose Jewell, 68, of Hamden, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2022, at her home. She was born February 18, 1954, in McArthur, Ohio, daughter of the late Dale and Cora (Jarvis) Turner. Brenda was a very kind soul who was well liked and respected by many. She spent many years working as a registered nurse for the State of Ohio prison system. She enjoyed laughing and joking, gambling, and loved her fur babies. Most of all, however, she adored spending time with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her son, Melvin E. Simpson, II; daughter, Deidre Jewell; grandchildren, Jasmine, and Matthew Simpson; a sister, Mary Kay Campbell; great-aunt, Roseann Bobo; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by brothers, Daniel Jarvis, Harry Turner, and Robert Turner; as well as a great-nephew, Kevin Patterson; and a great-niece, Sierra Danner.

In keeping with Brenda’s wishes her body was cremated and no public services will be held.
