Barbara Ann Waldron, 89, of McArthur, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025, at the Four Winds Community in Jackson. She was born on November 24, 1935, in Edmond, West Virginia, daughter of the late Harry and Mabel (Walker) Wood. Barbara retired from the Austin Powder Company after 28 years of service. She and her husband Ray were charter members of and attended, when health permitted, Grace Baptist Fellowship in Wellston. A loving, caring, and kind mother and nanny will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children, Kevin (Polly) Waldron and Teresa Scott; grandchildren, Shane (Heather) Scott, and Aaron (Kylie) Scott; great-grandchildren, Haydan, Andrew, Teagan, Carter, and Hudson; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Waldron (2017); brothers, John (Ruth) Wood, Myron Wood, and Forrest (Louise) Wood; a sister, Mildred (Rev. Loma) Gwinn; and a nephew, Forrest Wood, Jr.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Grace Baptist Fellowship, 240 S. New York Ave, Wellston, where a funeral service Celebrating Barb’s life will follow commencing at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Tim Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Elk Cemetery, McArthur.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made in Barb’s memory to Grace Baptist Fellowship, 240 S. New York Ave, Wellston, Ohio 45692.
The family also wishes to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Four Winds Community for the loving care they gave to Barb in her final years.
