Mary L. Cardwell, 69, of Hamden, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2018, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born on February 2, 1949, in Vinton County, Ohio, daughter of the late Paul B. and Violet R. (Nixon) Bay. Despite her disability, Mary was a very active person. She played kick ball, the 12-string guitar, crocheted, and mowed grass. She never let her disability keep her down. She was a fun-loving person who enjoyed playing cards, drinking Pepsi and coffee, eating ice cream and spending time outdoors with family and friends.
She sis survived by her family: close companion, Richie Wiseman; three brothers, Kenneth (Becky) Bay, Donald (Nancy) Bay, and Larry Joe (Sharon) Bay; two sisters, Ruth (Charles) Jividen and Norma (Benny) Graham; special friends, Karen Barnett and Regina Martin; as well as several nieces and nephews and many other friends.
The family will receive friends in the chapel of R.M. Williams Funeral Service, 120 West Broadway St., Wellston, on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., where a funeral service celebrating Mary’s life will follow commencing at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Hamden Cemetery.
