Dennis Eberts

Harold Dennis Eberts, 64, of Hamden, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017 at his home. He was born on October 29, 1953 in McArthur, Ohio, son of the late Jerald Barnes “Bert” Eberts and Suzanna “Marguerite” Burns Eberts. Dennis attended Vinton County High School where he was an athlete, playing both basketball and baseball. He also attended and graduated from Millersburg Military Institute in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. An avid golfer, he was a member of Hickory Hill Golf Club in Columbus and Fairgreens Country Club in Jackson. Dennis and his father, Bert were entrepreneurs who formerly owned and operated B & D Coal and B &D Ready Mix.  Dennis worked hard, but played even harder. He enjoyed gambling, a nice steak dinner, and spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by many.

He is survived by his daughters, Susan Gallagher and Karen Eberts; granddaughters, Banning Gallagher, Clancy Gallagher, and Emily Baldwin; special cousins, Lou (Bob) Stewart, Donna Sue McCorkle, and Shirley (Jim) Boring; special friend and mother of his children, Mary “Roxanne” Baldwin; special friend, Linda (Joe) Allman; as well as many other cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 from 4 to 6 p.m. at R.M. Williams Funeral Service, 120 West Broadway St., Wellston, where a memorial service celebrating Dennis’ life will follow, commencing at 6:00 p.m. Rev. Jim Eberts officiating.
