Alice Estep Lifestory

Alice M. Estep, 78, of Lancaster, passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at the Pickering House in Lancaster. She was born on October 9, 1940, in Hocking County, Ohio, daughter of the late William Alonzo and Wretha Alice (Arledge) Poling. Alice was a lover of animals, especially cats. She was always sure to care for not only her pets, but also the strays that needed a good meal or a warm place to sleep. Alice worked as a nurse’s aide for several years at the Orient MRDD Institute and was a school bus driver for both Circleville and Columbus City Schools. In addition to this, she also sold Avon. She will be greatly missed.

Alice is survived by her children: Terry Poling, of Wellston, Tammy (John) Smith of Bremen, and Troy Estep; grandchildren: Justin and Ashley Smith, Evan, Eric, Madalyn, and Veronica Poling; as well as a great granddaughter, Abigail Marie Smith.

In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by an infant daughter.

A graveside committal honoring Alice’s life will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. in Olive Cemetery, South Perry.
