Ray Waldron

Glendon Ray Waldron, 82, of McArthur, passed away suddenly on Friday, October 13, 2017 at Holzer Medical Center E.R. in Jackson. He was born on June 10, 1935 in Vinton County, Ohio, son of the late Glen Waldron and Garnel (Remy) Waldron. Ray was a gentleman whose priorities were God, Family, and his church. A hardworking man, he often worked 2 or 3 jobs at a time to be sure to provide adequately for his family. A fun-loving family man, he had a great sense of humor and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and wood working.  He was a charter member of Grace Baptist Fellowship in Wellston where he enjoyed the friendship and fellowship of his church family.

He is survived by his loving family: wife of 63 years, Barb (Wood) Waldron; son, Kevin (Polly) Waldron; daughter, Teresa Scott; 2 grandsons, Shane and Aaron Scott; 5 great grandsons, Hayden, Andrew, Teagan, Carter, and Hudson; 4 sisters, Gail (Donnie) Worrix, Ann (Darrell) Leonard, Kathy (Jim) Williamson, and Margie (George) Barlow; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his brother, Melvin “Wendy” Waldron and sisters, Betty Sturgill and Racine Williamson.

A funeral service celebrating Ray’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 in Grace Baptist Fellowship, 240 S. New York Ave., Wellston, with Pastor Tim Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Elk Cemetery, McArthur.

The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Fellowship, 240 S. New York Ave., Wellston, Ohio 45692.
