Dennis was one of my first and definitely most favorite customers when I opened my flower shop in 2005. He ordered 2 centerpieces every Thanksgiving and Christmas for the last 12 years. I enjoyed his orneriness and sense of humor. He was delightfully unique and I always looked forward to seeing him. I will miss him and hold my memories of him in my heart.

Dennis was beyond legendary and He may have passed on, but He will never die. I am sure Dennis stories will be shared for generations by golfers who played even just once with Him. A true comical giant and a genius at organizing chaos into great competitive fun. Going on any golf trip with Dennis was an invitation to more memories than most of us will have in a lifetime. His sense of humor, His unabashed and totally unafraid timing, and His laugh, will live with those of us who were so, so lucky to have known Him. The golf world (especially the skin game guys) staggered with sadness at this news, but I know I speak for many who will think of Dennis, and not be able to keep from laughing through our tears.

Susan, Karen and family,
We were saddened to hear of Dennis's passing. Seems like the best of our Hamden Community is slowly disappearing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My deepest sympathies and sincere condolences to Karen and family for your loss. I am very saddened to lose a good friend. Dennis was a generous man with a big heart. I will never forget the great times spent with Dennis going to dinner at Captain Cork's, Stephen's, the OU Inn and elsewhere, watching and talking sports, playing golf together and many other things. He could light up a room with his friendly and gregarious nature. He was a true and loyal friend who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

I have known Dennis my whole adult life. He has two daughters one which was a great fast ball pitcher she helped my grand daughter this past summer practice her pitching ...Dennis played baseball with her grandfather Gary “ max” Barber whom Dennis was friends with until the end;they are having a reunion I’m sure. God bless you and will be thinking of you during this hard time.

There are just no words. Keith is right, Dennis, you LIVED.
The ‘70s could not be rewritten without you Dennis, all of our crazy friends, Athens, softball games, your mom fillin the trunk up with “sam”iches!! The fighting, the laughter, the blue and white GTO, the trips to Athens, all the rides on the back roads, passing all other friends along the way. That’s about all there was to do back then!
Your parents loved you dearly and they spoiled you rotten. Lol. You were always smiling and always happy. I’m sure your family, children and grandchildren will miss you greatly.
Heaven will never be the same!!! Maybe God will greet you with a little red house with a car wash next door.
God Speed my dear friend.
